Imperial Goat BBQ Seasoning Chip Dip Recipe

IGB Sumi’s Onion Dip

1 Bowl
Products Used
  • 1 cup Sour Cream 
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise 
  • 1 Yellow onion ( medium)
  • Bacon fat (olive oil)
  • Sumi Seasoning
  1. Dice the onion and set aside
    • You want roughly 1 cup of diced onions.  You can always decrease this if you want less onion flavor. 
  2. In a skillet, heat 1-2 Tablespoons of bacon fat or olive oil
    • Bacon fat just brings more flavor to the finished recipe but the main object here is to caramelize the onions. 
  3. Cook down the onions until they are well caramelized and have a rich brown color.
  4. Mix together the sour cream and mayonnaise in a medium sized mixing bowl. 
  5. Stir in 1 Tablespoon of Sumi Seasoning.
    • You may want to add a little more or less based on your love of salt.  Start with 1 teaspoon and work your way up.
  6. Stir in your caramelized onions.
  7. Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 4 hours
    • You can eat it immediately but the flavors are better if given some time to meld.  Overnight is best!
